Further information

When using electrotherapies, I am often asked "what does that machine do" or "how does it work", so here is a little more information on each modality.

Laser

Laser therapy is the targeted application of visible red light. Energy from the light is transferred to the tissue and absorbed by tissue cells. This triggers an alteration of the cells metabolic processes which induces physiological changes. These physiological changes can then be used for therapeutic effect. Evidence suggests that laser therapy can stimulate circulation and immune responses, enhance wound healing, assist with joint problems, reduce pain and effectively treat soft tissue injuries.
