All About Me

I have always had an affinity with animals and knew from an early age that I wanted to work with them and help them in some capacity. As I got older I realised that I needed to hone in on a specific area of interest, so in order to help me decide I completed a diploma in Animal Management at Reaseheath Agricultural College. The course was a fantastic opportunity to work with a broad range of animals including pets, exotic and zoo animals, aquatic species, farm animals and horses. Following this, I went on to complete my BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Chester. The course covered topics relating to the health, welfare and behaviour of different species, but particularly dogs and horses. Towards the end of the degree, a guest speaker came in to talk about veterinary physiotherapy and this was a decisive moment for me. I knew this was the perfect career to achieve my dream of working with animals and helping them physiologically. By combining my passions for animal behaviour and welfare, utilising the skills I had learnt at Reaseheath and Chester, alongside the veterinary physiotherapy training, I could offer comprehensive assessment and treatment as a veterinary physiotherapist. Upon completion of my BSc, I enrolled on the MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy course at Nottingham University and I am now a fully qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist, as well as a member of The Institute of Registered Veterinary & Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP).

I believe it is extremely important to work as part of a multimodal team alongside trainers, vets, farriers, saddlers, dentists and paraprofessionals to ensure your animals receive the best possible care, and their wellbeing is at the forefront of every decision. I also strive to keep updated with new research and techniques, as well as regularly completing CPD, to expand my knowledge and skill set. This helps to ensure I can provide the best possible service to my clients.
